A hungry lion. A pot of stew. An unlikely friendship.

From monkeys on Monday to elephants on Saturday, the Tawny Scrawny Lion spends his week chasing animals—but never seems to get enough to eat! Then ten clever rabbits introduce him to carrot stew, giving him a delicious reason to stop chasing and pull up a seat.

One of the bestselling Little Golden Books of all time, Tawny Scrawny Lion pairs Kathryn Jackson’s playful story with Gustaf Tenggren’s classic illustrations. Share a childhood favorite with your little reader, and see whether those rabbits’ supper sounds good enough to try at home.
