How Fragrance Impacts Our Emotions
When we inhale fragrances, they travel directly to the limbic system in the brain, stimulating areas that affect our instincts, memories, and emotions. A Memorable Experience
We had a customer who would visit us monthly and purchase the same three candles. Eventually, we encouraged him to broaden his choices by suggesting other fragrances we thought he might enjoy. He politely declined and proceeded to tell us that he chose the same three fragrances because his wife was battling dementia, and the only time she seemed more like herself was when he burned our candles. He thanked us for giving his wife back to him, and (once we stopped crying) that was the moment we were reminded why we show up every day.
There may not be any scientific proof that our candles can directly impact a person's memory, but he was convinced, and his wife shared some beautiful memories with him. We will forever be grateful to have been a small part of what made her journey beautiful. Anyone who has ever suffered from anxiety knows how debilitating it can be. Anxiety can disrupt your plans, cause you physical harm, and negatively impact your overall well-being.
Experts suggest using fragrances containing bergamot, chamomile, geranium, lavender, orange, patchouli, sandalwood, and vetiver to combat anxiety and bring about peace.
Of course, the more notes present in a fragrance, the more potentially helpful the fragrance will be. With an incredible five of the suggested eight notes, our Cool Citrus Basil is the clear front runner in the peace and tranquility category.
